A couple weeks ago we made our own play dough for the first time and it was a huge hit with the kids! The loved the process of making it and the consistency of the finished product is absolutely perfect!
Here’s what you need:
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup salt
4 tsp cream of tartar
2 cups water
2 tbs of vegetable oil
Food coloring (I only used 2 drops each to keep the colors light)
Combine all ingredients into a pan and stir constantly over low heat until a dough begins to form and pulls away from the edges of the pan (5-8 minutes). If you’re using food coloring, add a few drops of each before you remove from heat. Remove from pan and place on the counter to cool. Store in a zip lock bag for up to 2 months!
