My Morning Routine

May 20, 2020

Let’s talk morning routines – do you have one? What’s it look like?! I always love hearing about other morning routines, so I thought it’d be fun to share mine with you all. I don’t do it perfectly and there is nothing super special or groundbreaking about it, but it’s what works for me in this season. I’ve learned that this quiet time looks different for me in different seasons of life and depending on what I’m studying, but this what’s mine has been looking like lately…

5:45 Alarm goes off
6:00 Make coffee (if you know me well, you know how much I love my fresh cup of pour over coffee each morning)
6:10 Silence and prayer to set my mind on the Lord and ask Him to open my heart to learn what He has for me that day
6:15 Read my Bible (right now I’m reading through the NT, so that looks like reading 3-5 chapters each day and journaling some thoughts) then I generally will do a day in my “Cultivate Contentment” journal from Cultivate What Matters or read a chapter in a book I’m reading (currently Ministry of Motherhood)
6:50 Pray through a section of my prayer journal (by Val Marie Paper)
7:00 My kid’s green lights go off and come down to join me – I try to be done by this time, but sometimes I’m still wrapping up and invite them to join me

I’d love to hear what your morning routine looks like!!
